Scott worked in a number of policing interests inclusive of uniformed patrol, plain-clothes investigation - fraud, sexual offenses, drugs, vice, marine patrol and he even did a term of service in the high arctic. He finished his career investigating homicides.  Throughout those adventuresome years, Scott gained a unique perspective into the human condition.  He has developed a passion for working with those who find themselves before the criminal courts battling not only the concepts of guilt and innocence, but having to wrestle with addiction and/or mental illness as well. His goal is to provide a conduit for better systemic understanding, creating opportunities to redirect our clientele into more effective sentencing options. Community-based alternatives are now capable of addressing more rehabilitative issues than an over-burdened prison system can handle. We have an over-burdened prison system.

Scott believes that empathy is a gift - it's an ability to really understand a problem from a number of angles, without a bias or pre-judgment getting in the way.

"In walking with so many people along so many pathways; I have discovered each trail is a new and exciting exploration of everyone's potential for growth, including my own. I know STIGMA suffocates EMPATHY and must be first self-recognized and then removed before any true understanding can be attained."

Scott is an investigator and a report writer by trade. Scott states, “My pledge is to you. I will present the real 'You' (not a docket number and a listing of the evidence) - we use our comprehensive, defense-based, bio-psycho-social reporting system. Sentencing Services strives to attain the 'win-win' result on our client’s behalf and to seek a court disposition that has been based upon a fully informed decision-making process."
